The MY SAFETY Program
MY SAFETY is a proactive, company-wide program that empowers every employee to take ownership of safety on and off the job site. Built on the principles of accountability, education, and prevention, the program features:
Daily decision-making informed by safety principles
Ongoing education for every role, from laborers to superintendents
Behavior-based safety practices for real-time awareness and action
Job-specific safety planning using tools like Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
The result: a safer work environment, reduced risk, and projects that stay on schedule.

PennDOT, OSHA, and Work Zone Safety Regulations
OSHA standards 29 CFR 1910 and 1926
Pennsylvania Construction Code
PennDOT work zone safety requirements
For roadway and bridge projects, we follow PennDOT’s work zone safety regulations, implementing reduced speed limits, clear signage, automated enforcement, and physical traffic barriers. Job-specific safety briefings and Stop Work Authority training empower crews to respond to hazards in real time.
Further, our employees are trained in fall protection, excavation safety, scaffolding, confined spaces, and more. We also conduct site-specific Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA) to identify and eliminate risks before work begins, followed by daily and weekly safety check-ins.
PPE and Worker Safety Training
Our commitment to compliance includes equipping all workers with the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and training them to use it properly.
Required gear includes:
ANSI-rated high-visibility apparel
Hard hats, steel-toe boots, and protective eyewear
Respiratory and hearing protection as needed
Superintendents, foremen, and project engineers undergo between 40 and 100 hours of safety education, including OSHA Construction Safety Courses and Castle Builder’s proprietary Safety Leadership Course. Our teams are confident, capable, and empowered to act on safety concerns in real time.
